And now for a Hamilton Farmers’ Market update: According to The Spec, the vendors that had been previously rejected from the newly renovated market have heard the final word regarding their resubmitted applications. 6 vendors have received approval for the new market: Multi-Traditional Bakery, Charlie’s Corner Produce, Spear’s Produce, Country Green Garden, Ray’s Health Food and Florsam Bulk, Beans, Fruits & Vegetables.
A few businesses have had their applications declined, and a few have been approved pending more space in the market. You can read the full article here.
According the Raise the Hammer, there will also be a new market annex in the food court of the Hamilton City Centre: “Council approved six of the appeals with two of the vendors being located in the renovated market and four to be located in a new market annex to be located in the food court of Hamilton City Centre.”
The market and library renovations are looking pretty snazzy right now. I drove by the other night and this rendering of the renovations is a pretty accurate picture of what I could see when I was dropping my library books off:
I wonder if the inside will look like this too? The newly renovated market should be open January 21, 2011.
