Hamilton Farmers’ Market grand re-opening!

I went to the Hamilton Farmers’ Market grand re-opening yesterday with my friend Katharine Snider-McNair and she took these photos of the busy day.
The market was so busy! The restored Birks clock chimed on the hour and the little knights mechanically galloped around the outside of the clock; everyone paused on the second level and the stairs to watch. I spoke to John from Our Fathers’ Farm, and briefly said hello to a very busy Chris Godwaldt at Red Hill Coffee Trade. Alvaro Venturelli from Plan B spoke about his recent work in Mexico and the C.R.A.F.T. program. The vendors I spoke to were in high spirits and happy to see the market so thickly populated Saturday morning.
Overall the market looked really great, and bureaucratic issues aside hopefully the city can come together to support this really great new space. I’m especially excited to attend some of the events they have planned for the community kitchen!
Here is an updated listing of the vendors in the market.
